To the editor:

New Palestine American Legion Post 182 treated 25 Veterans from Woodland Terrace and Sugar Creek Convalescent Center to brunch on Veterans Day at Sero’s Restaurant in Cumberland. The veterans were warmly welcomed by Sero’s staff and paid the respect they have earned by their service.

Chaplain Chris Webb reports the day was one that the veterans and Post 182 will long remember and cherish.

Larry Houston entertained the vets with a broad selection of songs from past years to which several vets were singing along. Each veteran was given a sack filled with gifts provided by local merchants.

Upon their return to Woodland Terrace, the Veterans were given a welcome-home greeting by the staff and residents.

It was truly a great day for the vets and also for the New Palestine American Legion Post 182 members.

Thanks again to Sero’s Restaurant as well as the accompanying staff from Woodland Terrace and Sugar Creek Convalescent Center.
