A prayer center has opened on the campus of Hope Center Indy in a partnership with Indiana House of Prayer and Equipping, a ministry working to establish such a prayer site in each Indiana county. Churches to gather for Thanksgiving

SHIRLEY — A community Thanksgiving service is set for 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Shirley Church of the Nazarene, 310 South St., Shirley.

The service is presented by the Community Ministerial Alliance. Area pastors will lead different parts of the service, and area churches often have a member or group share music, a poem or some other element of the service.

Rick Hutson, pastor of Shirley-Wilkinson Community United Methodist Church, will preach the message.

Churches in the alliance are Shirley Church of the Nazarene, Christ Fellowship Church, Warrington Church of the Nazarene, Wilkinson Church of Christ, Grant City Wesleyan Church, Shirley Friends Church and Shirley-Wilkinson Community United Methodist Church.

Everyone is welcome to the service, regardless of where/if they attend church.

Community Thanksgiving service set at Trinity Park

Thanksgiving meal is today

McCORDSVILLE — McCordsville United Methodist Church will serve a community Thanksgiving dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 23) at the church, 6247 W. Broadway, McCordsville.

Each year church members gather before the event to make noodles for it.

Everyone is welcome. A free-will offering is accepted.

Cumberland church plans Thanksgiving service, dinner

CUMBERLAND — New Life Church will have a Thanksgiving service at 11 a.m. Sunday, followed by a Thanksgiving dinner at 1 p.m.

Sing along to the ‘Messiah’

NEW PALESTINE — The annual Community Sing of Handel’s Messiah is set for 2 p.m. Dec. 1.

Advent by Candlelight comes to New Palestine

NEW PALESTINE — Women are invited to Advent by Candlelight from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 1 at New Palestine United Methodist Church, 3565 S. County Road 500W, New Palestine.

It includes food and entertainment by musicians including a New Palestine High School show choir. Those attending are asked to bring an appetizer to share.

Service to remember loved ones missed

GREENFIELD — The Elders of Greenfield Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) invite the public to a candlelight serve of remembrance, Angels Among Us, at 5 p.m. Dec. 8 at the church, 23 N. East St.

The service will honor the lives and memories of those who have passed away recently or longer ago by placement of special ornaments on the Angel Tree of Lights. These ornaments will then be given to the families as remembrances.

Light refreshments will follow.
