GREENFIELD

Robert Lee Hess, 71, died November 16, 2019 at Hancock Regional Hospital, Greenfield, Indiana from complications due to Parkinson’s, lung cancer, and pneumonia.

Visitation will be at Brookville Road Community Church on Thursday, November 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the same location on Saturday, November 23 at 11 a.m. officiated by Pastor Andy Flink.

Robert Hess was born on April 11, 1948 in South Bend, Indiana to Leon and Alice Hess. He graduated from Purdue University as a Professional Engineer. He worked as a civil engineer at the Indiana Department of Transportation for almost forty years.

He served in the Peace Corps in Honduras from 1971 to 1973.

He married June Elizabeth Hunt on November 30, 1974 and nearly celebrated 45 years of marriage together.

His hobbies included hiking, reading, and spending time with family. He was a part of Brookville Road Community Church, and was involved in Rock Steady Boxing. Deeply important to him was his personal relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and he intently looked forward to going home with Jesus.

He is survived by his wife and two sons, Benjamin (Joy) Hess and Regan (Leah) Hess; five grandchildren, Dylan, Abigail, Gloria, Elijah, and Lewis; and sisters Judy (Emery) Hirschler and Cindy (Doug) Ottinger.
