Tonya R. Davis

Why are you the best candidate for office?

I am lifetime resident of Fortville. I want to see our town grow in a way that the whole community can be proud of and still keep our small-town atmosphere. I have the ability to communicate well with our community and will be able to support their best interests in the things to come to our small town. I will bring complete transparency to the community on the decisions that will affect our town and the people in it. Along with a common-sense approach and dedication to our community.

What is the most pressing issue facing Fortville?

Infrastructure, controlling growth and finance.

Does Fortville need smoking rules that are stricter than Hancock County’s?

The county ordinance is sufficient. Our level of government (town council) should not be trying to reinvent the wheel. There are other things that need to be addressed in our town.

Should Fortville pursue a riverfront development district, in which more liquor licenses would be available for restaurants that serve alcohol?

Absolutely. The riverfront district will allow the town to continue to attract new business/restaurants. At the same time, it will allow the town to decide by application who, what kind and how many liquor licenses would be able to apply for their state liquor license.
