Firm recognized for environmental efforts

FORTVILLE — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently recognized Holloway House, Inc., a Fortville company that makes finishes and cleaners for floors and cabinets.

The company was among the EPA’s recognition of 14 Safer Choice Partner of the Year award winners across 12 states and the District of Columbia. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in 2018 for the design, manufacture, selection and use of products with safer chemicals for use in households and facilities nationwide.

Greenfield native gets Navy promotion

JACKSONVILLE, Florida — A Greenfield native serving in the U.S. Navy was recently promoted to chief petty officer.

Brian Borgmann, an Eastern Hancock High School graduate, received the promotion during a pinning ceremony at Naval Station Mayport in Jacksonville, Florida.

Borgmann currently serves as an electronics technician with Command, Littoral Combat Ship Squadron Two.

Chamber having veterans lunch

GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce is having an “Invite a Veteran to Lunch” event 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 at NineStar Connect, 2243 E. Main St., Greenfield.

Veterans eat for free, and admission for the general public is $15.
