Indie Art Studio offers sewing basics for kids

GREENFIELD — Indie Art Studio will offer a two-week stitching basics class that will meet Sept. 25 and Oct. 2 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Learn a life skill while sewing an emoji or a donut pillow. This course will begin by discussing safe sewing habits and introduce the very basics of hand sewing, including threading a needle, tying a knot and basic stitching. Participants will learn to trace, cut, pin and sew with a pattern, then stuff and assemble a pillow. The $30 class price includes all art materials. Recommended for grades 4 through 6. New football experience features Indianapolis Colts

 INDIANAPOLIS — The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, 3000 N. Meridian St., offers a new interactive exhibit that celebrates football. The exhibit features the Indianapolis Colts along with Indiana college and high school teams, youth football leagues, fans and more. Children and families will experience the excitement and fandom of football while also learning the history of the game, the rules, equipment and training as part of the Sports Legend Experience. The artifacts in the exhibit include the helmet worn by quarterback Peyton Manning for his last game as a member of the Colts in January 2011, and a Colts Super Bowl XLI Vince Lombardi Trophy replica.
