Cougars climb to top of HHC

Greenfield-Central improved to 10-1 overall and 4-0 in the Hoosier Heritage Conference with a 1-0 victory over host Shelbyville (15-2, 5-1), Tuesday.

The win earned the Cougars the HHC Victory Bell and the lead in the conference standings.

Dragons shut out Franklin

Anna Luker and Maddy Miller scored the goals and Addie Halter and Olivia Murphy recorded assists in New Palestine’s 2-0 victory over visiting Franklin Community on Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Whitney Miller had the shutout.

New Palestine improved to 7-4-2 on the season.

Marauders lose at Batesville

Mt. Vernon dropped a 2-1 decision Tuesday at Batesville.

Katie Gawrys had the lone MV goal. Anna Isger picked up the assist. Goalkeeper Alex Overshiner had eight saves.

The Marauders are 8-5 on the season.

Volleyball

Dragons rally to win

After dropping the first set, New Palestine battled back for a 3-1 victory Tuesday over visiting Mooresville, Tuesday.

Set scores for the match were 23-25, 25-14, 25-20, 25-14.

Rachel Popp had a double-double with 13 kills and 11 digs. Kaelyn Armstrong added 12 kills. Grace Myers tallied 19 digs, and setter Sarah Adam dished out 35 assists.

Reagan Kleiman had five kills and seven blocks.

New Pal improved to 9-6 on the season.

Dragons drop close one

At Richmond on Tuesday, New Palestine lost 3-2 to the host Red Devils.

For New Pal, Ben Blachly won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Jeremy Wagoner won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.
