FORTVILLE — Kammy’s Kause, an annual fundraiser for Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, has raised about $46,000 so far after its 16th running in downtown Fortville last Saturday.

Jared Hiner, founder and president of Kammy’s Kause, said donation opportunities will be available through the end of the month by texting 4LOVE to 44-321. Funds raised go to the 4p- Support Group, a national nonprofit organization that supports those with a fourth chromosome condition and their loved ones.

Hiner’s daughter, Kamdyn, 17, was diagnosed with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, a rare chromosome disorder, shortly after she was born.

Hiner estimated about 5,000 people attended the fundraiser.

Bill Knauer, Fortville police chief, received the event’s Bekause Award, a distinction given to those who make a difference in the community.
