NASA grant application process begins this week

GREENFIELD — Neighborhoods Against Substance Abuse will begin its 2020 grant application process Wednesday.

Any organization or program wishing to apply for funds from the Local Drug-Free Community Fund should have a representative present at the Bidders Conference, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Purdue Extension Office at 802 Apple Street. Funds will be awarded to projects fighting substance abuse in three categories: prevention and education, treatment and intervention, and justice and law enforcement.

NASA is the Local Coordinating Council for Hancock County. Every county has a council that falls under the Governor’s Commission for a Drug-Free Indiana. The funds being awarded are offender fees collected when someone is convicted of drunken driving or a drug charge. Grant applications must address one of the substance abuse issues identified in the comprehensive community plan.

Contact the NASA office at (317) 477-0200 or [email protected] for more information.
