New body shop assistant joins Inskeep Ford

GREENFIELD — Kathy Hill has joined Inskeep Ford as the business’s new body shop assistant.

Hill is a longtime member of the Brandywine Cruisers of Hancock County Car Club. The club puts on the Auto Fest event, a car show that benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hancock County, held every year in October at Inskeep Ford.

Coffee shop, gaming parlor to open in city

GREENFIELD — A Greenfield native and veteran of the hospitality and specialty coffee industries plans to open a cafe and gaming parlor in a city shopping center.

Hitherto Coffee & Gaming Parlour is slated to open this fall in the Green Meadows Shopping Center at 1558 N. State St.

Owner Kevin Kerkhof will offer coffee-, espresso- and tea-based drinks; tonics and elixirs; free-form savory and sweet pies known as galettes; and a retail selection dedicated to tabletop board gaming. The cafe will also host game events for general play and for customers to learn new games.

Kerkhof opened and served for more than 10 years as executive chef and general manager of Greyhouse Coffee & Supply Co. near Purdue University.

Dairy Queen Grill & Chill gets new manager

GREENFIELD — J.D. Restaurants, Inc., which owns the Dairy Queen Grill & Chill at 801 W. Main St. in Greenfield, has appointed Patti Phelps as manager.

The Greenfield native began her career at DQ 17 years ago and has worked her way from crew member through management levels.

Greenfield native takes over fundraising entity

GREENFIELD — Rob Reed, a Greenfield native, has acquired Apex Leadership Co.’s central Indiana branch.

Apex Leadership Co. provides a variety of offerings that help school groups raise funds through an online social media-driven format. Apex offers services for every age group of students and athletes with a focus on fun, fitness and leadership lessons.

Along with Greenfield, the Central Indiana branch also serves Indianapolis, Avon, Greenwood, Greencastle, New Palestine, Plainfield, Mooresville and Franklin.

Edward Jones financial adviser wins award

GREENFIELD — Jeff Cleckner of Edward Jones at 320 E. Main St. in Greenfield recently received the firm’s Ted Jones Prospecting Award, which recognizes financial advisers who achieve high levels of success early in their careers.

Cleckner was one of 1,367 of the firm’s more than 18,000 financial advisers to receive the award.
