KOKOMO — It was a record-breaking night for sophomore Houston Swan and the Eastern Hancock Royals.

It only took Swan one half to put his name in the school’s record books.

The Royals’ quarterback threw six touchdown passes in the first two quarters, breaking a single-game school record and helping the visitors jump out to a 42-0 halftime lead against Northwestern.

Swan finished the game with 301 yards passing and the six TDs, all in the first half of what was a 42-12 Eastern Hancock win.

“It was good. Forced some turnovers, really were aggressive to the ball, did some really nice things in the first half,” Royals assistant coach Clayton Shultz said of the team, and the defense’s, performance.

The Royals kept their starting defense in for a drive of the second half and gave up a score before giving way to some backups and JV players.

“We had our first group out there the first series of the second half and had a little bit of a letdown, but really all along, pretty good game, good outcome,” Shultz said. “There’s plenty to work on, though.”

The Royals are back on the road again Friday night at Wes-Del.
