McCordsville’s new police chief sworn in

McCORDSVILLE — The second police chief in McCordsville’s history formally took his post Monday night.

McCordsville Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners president Mark Walker swore in Chief Paul Casey at the commissioners’ monthly meeting.

The board voted last month to appoint Casey as chief effective Aug. 1. Casey, who’s been on the local force for about 27 years, had been serving as interim chief since January. He replaces former chief Harold Rodgers, who retired on Aug. 1 after starting as town marshal in 1990.
