Greenfield Community Choir seeks members
GREENFIELD — Greenfield Community Choir begins its 2019-2020 season at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at Greenfield Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 23 N. East St. No audition is necessary. All who enjoy the love of singing and music are invited to join for an evening of music, refreshments and snacks.
Still time to register for the Sister Cities 5K
GREENFIELD — Beginners and veteran runners are invited to compete in the seventh annual Sister Cities of Greenfield 5K Run/Walk at 9 a.m. Aug. 17. The route begins in the heart of downtown Greenfield at Sister Cities Park west of State Street on the Pennsy Trail. The relatively flat course is straight out and back, located on the roadbed of the old Pennsylvania Railroad. Much of the trail is lined by trees and shrubs, helping cool the August heat. Your participation will help support the Sister Cities of Greenfield organization, which provides travel and hosting experiences for Greenfield students and their teachers and parents. Bed race looking for participants
GREENFIELD — The Forty and Eight, a veterans honor society, seeks teams for the Four-Post 400 Bed Race Challenge, to be held from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 7 on North Street between State and Pennsylvania streets. The event is open to groups of five (four to push the bed and one to ride) for the Parade of Beds at noon, followed by the bed racing at 1 p.m. and the championship race at 4 p.m. The registration fee per team is $75.
