HANCOCK COUNTY — The Hancock County Community Foundation recently awarded nine grants from the White Family Foundation Fund totaling $25,000.
The following organizations received funding:
- Shirley Community Visionaries: $2,400
- Academy Place Apartments Inc.: $1,500
- Boys & Girls Clubs of Hancock County: $4,000
- SAWS (Servants at Work, Inc.): $1,000
- Weir Cook Memorial Project: $3,000
- Town of Kennard: $3,000
- Greenfield Main Street: $2,000
- The Landing: $6,000
- Shirley Police Department: $2,100
The purpose of the White Family Foundation Fund is to assist local community development and support initiatives that enhance the desire to live, work and play in Shirley and nearby surrounding communities, according to information on the community foundation’s website.
