Master Gardeners award scholarships

HANCOCK COUNTY — Hancock County Master Gardeners (HCMG) awarded its $250 scholarships at this year’s Hancock County 4-H Fair to Ryan Kihlstrum and Zoe Starks.

Presenting the awards was Bob Degitz, HCMG scholarship chairman.

Starks, a freshman at Greenfield-Central High School, won the Grand Champion Garden award for her cherry tomatoes. Starks is the daughter of Mike and Angie Starks.

Kihlstrum, a sophomore at Eastern Hancock High School, won the Grand Champion Floriculture award for his display on The Origin of Flowers. Kihlstrum is the son Mark and Rachelle Kihlstrum.
