FORTVILLE — Seth Woolston, 13, will be awarded scouting’s highest rank of Eagle Scout in August.

Woolston, a member of Troop 196, chartered by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, has been involved in scouting for six years and attends Mt. Vernon Middle School.

For his Eagle Scout service project, Woolston built benches for Fortville-Vernon Township Public Library. To complete the project, Woolston had to purchase the wood, cut and stain the pieces before constructing them. His benches will be a part of the outdoor reading area.

Woolston is one of only four percent of scouting’s national membership to attain the rank of Eagle.
