GREENFIELD
Eugene Burton, age 80 of Greenfield passed away, Monday, July 15, 2019 at Hancock Regional Hospice. He was born June 11, 1939 in Columbia, KY to the late Clyde and Florence (Pendleton) Burton. He married Carolyn (Holt) on January 9, 1960. Prior to his retirement he was a machine operator for Ford Motor Company.
Eugene was an avid coon and squirrel hunter. He enjoyed Fishing, auctions, Hardees, Walmart and harness racing.
He is survived by his daughter Angela (Jesse) Melton, granddaughters, Brooke (Troy) Dodd, Brittany (Dusty) Bassett; 2 great grands, Lane Bassett and baby girl Valerie Dodd due in September; sisters, Iretha Lyons, Debbie (Chris) Martin; brothers, Sam (Helen), J.R. (Paula), Dennis (Misty) Burton; several step brothers and sisters; nieces and nephews. He was papaw to several.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Carolyn and 6 siblings.
Friends may call Thursday, July 18, 2019 4-8 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 W. Main Street, Greenfield IN. Funeral 10 a.m., Friday at the funeral home with burial immediately following at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
