The New Barleycorn, from Ireland, is this week’s featured group for Entertainment on the Plaza.

GREENFIELD — Hancock County Arts Council’s latest exhibit, "Into the Wood," is now showing at the Twenty North Gallery, 20-A N. State St. A group of seven artists and master artisans have used various techniques on wood to express their creative talents. See fantasy figures, fairy houses and ornate walking sticks from Greenfield carver Jim Webb; pictures painted on wood from Donna Shortt, Sandy Hall and Carol Barrett; intricate, burnt animal images — some on cut tree sections, some on paper — from Jennifer Flynn and Sharon Highsmith; master-crafted furniture from Dean Felker; and chipped-wood carving from "Mollie." The show highlights the variety of ways human creativity expresses itself within a single medium. For example, one work of art is a Cardinals baseball bat with a red cardinal perched on a baseball — all as one piece.

"Into the Wood" continues through June. Gallery hours are Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free.

WILKINSON — The third annual Cruise-In will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 29 at Weir Cook Community Park, 101 E. C St. Car registration begins at 8 a.m. at $10 per vehicle with dashboard plaques available for the first 50 entrants. Trophies will be announced at 2 p.m. Five Top Choice awards will be presented along with the Top 15 Best of Show. The event includes food provided by Wilkinson Police Department, a town garage sale and entertainment from DG the DJ and the Willow Branch Band.

GREENFIELD — A little bit of Ireland comes to Greenfield when The New Barleycorn entertains at 7 p.m. June 28 as part of Greenfield Banking Co.’s free summer Entertainment on the Plaza series just south of the Hancock County Courthouse. Born and raised in Ireland, John Delaney and Alec DeGabriele play a multitude of instruments, singing both contemporary folk and traditional Celtic songs and music. Audience members should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. No rain site or rain dates. For more about The New BarleyCorn, visit thenewbarleycorn.com.
