NEW PALESTINE — The Hancock County Community Foundation recently awarded New Palestine Main Street a grant from the Connecting Community Fund, a component fund of HCCF.

The $1,000 grant will help pay for a series of concerts called Music on Depot. These concerts kicked off on May 24 with Gordon Bonham Blues Band and will continue July 26 with Boogie Knights, Aug. 23 with Nick Harless Band and Sept. 27 with Levi Driskell.

The concerts will take place in the alley at the intersection of U.S. 52 (Main Street) and Depot Street, next to the New Palestine Museum. There will be live music for all ages, barbecue, beer and wine available to purchase. Bring lawn chairs and/or blankets for enjoying the concert and coolers are welcome. No outside alcohol is allowed.

Through the Connecting Community Fund, HCCF supports public opportunities that encourage residents to enjoy community gathering spots and activities where people can play, eat, learn and socialize.
