Whitaker graduates from Belmont

NASHVILLE, Tennessee — Hannah Whitaker, a 2015 Mt. Vernon High School graduate, recently graduated from Belmont University with a degree in nursing. She is the daughter of Steve and Heather Whitaker. Whitaker graduated magna cum laude for maintaining a grade-point average of 3.75-3.949 and has taken a job at TriStar Centennial Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, as a mental health nurse. Kinnett inducted into PKP honor society

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana — Anthony Kinnett, Greenfield, was recently initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Kinnett was initiated at Ball State University.

Membership is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.
