GREENFIELD — Twenty-one young women will take the stage Saturday afternoon with hopes to be crowned queen of the 2019 Hancock County 4-H Fair.

The pageant, to be conducted at 3 p.m. at Trinity Park United Methodist Church, will begin the unofficial countdown to the fair, which begins Friday, June 21, and runs through June 28. The new queen and her court will feature prominently at the fair, attending events and posing for photographs with winners of 4-H shows and contests.

The pageant will consist of professional wear and formal wear modeling. Candidates also will be interviewed by judges beforehand. The judges’ decision will take those areas into consideration, as well as the young women’s involvement and achievement in 4-H.

Savannah Coe, queen of the 2018 fair, will make a speech before helping crown the new queen.

The new queen will be the 62nd young woman to represent the Hancock County 4-H fair. A number of former queens are expected to be in attendance.
