Volunteers still sought for Wall That Heals

GREENFIELD — Volunteers are still needed to help with the visit of the Wall That Heals in July.

The wall, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, will be set up at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 W. Main St., from July 11-14. To accommodate the large crowds, the funeral home is still seeking volunteers — especially those who can work four-hour shifts during the overnight hours, since the site will be open 24 hours a day.

The 375 foot-long Vietnam Veterans Memorial replica is constructed of a synthetic granite comprised of 144 individual panels supported by an aluminum frame. LED lighting along the top of the wall provides for day or night readability of the more than 58,000 inscribed names.

More information about volunteering is available by emailing David Stillinger at [email protected].
