Sale to aid quilting group

GREENFIELD — Northside Christian Church is having a yard sale that continues from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday (May 18) at the church, 1304 Greenfield Drive.

Proceeds will benefit the church’s quilting group, which makes hand-tied quilts that are given to people facing illness or grief.

Race fans: Worship the night before

GREENFIELD — Trinity Park United Methodist Church will offer a service at 5:30 p.m. May 25 for race fans who will be at the Indianapolis 500 the next day, or others who find that time slot beneficial. Everyone is welcome. Casual attire is fine. The church is located at 207 W. Park Ave.

Gospel concert at Nazarene church

GREENFIELD — Mark Murphy will be in concert at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Greenfield First Church of the Nazarene, 1980 S. State St.

Murphy is a gospel soloist who has recorded with Bill Gaither and sings for the Church of the Nazarene. He shares his story of healing from Stage 4 colon cancer.

McCordsville church plans free-will breakfast

McCORDSVILLE — McCordsville United Methodist Church’s next community breakfast is set for 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday (May 18) at the church, 6247 W. Broadway, McCordsville.

Most breakfast favorites are on the menu, organizers say. A free-will offering will be accepted.

Electronics recycling set at Mt. Lebanon UMC

GREENFIELD — Dispose of unwanted household electronics at a recycling event in June.

Technology Recyclers will accept items from 8 a.m. to noon June 8 at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 3447 S. State Road 9.

CRT monitors and tube TVs can be disposed of for $20 each.

For other items, the event is free, but donations will be accepted. Accepted items include computers, laptops, office copiers, speakers, VCRs, cables and wires, medical electronics, batteries, printers, fax machines, PDAs, DVD players, stereos, cell phones, lab equipment, microwaves, game systems and more.

Items that will not be accepted include clothing, furniture, paint, toxic chemicals, wood and tires.

Baccalaureate set for NP sixth-graders

NEW PALESTINE — Volunteers organizing a Baccalaureate at New Palestine Intermediate School invite sixth-graders and their parents to the farewell ceremony set for 6:30 p.m. May 30 in the gymnasium of the school, 5613 W. County Road 200S.

Students participating should line up by 6:15 p.m.

From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., students from New Pal Life, a Christian breakfast club that met weekly before school, will sing, play instruments and share memories. Also, local churches and parents have a gift for each New Palestine Intermediate sixth-grader.

Sixth-graders and their parents are invited to a brief reception in the school cafeteria following the service. To donate or volunteer, call 317-224-4608.

This is not a school-sponsored event and not mandatory for students.

Presbyterian Women plan rummage sale

McCORDSVILLE — The Presbyterian Women of Christ Presbyterian Church, 7879 N. County Road 700W, have been cleaning up and clearing out their closets, basements, garages and attics in preparation for the annual rummage sale. The sale will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. May 31 and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 1.

This annual fundraiser will feature a wide variety of items including small appliances, housewares, dishes, glassware, linens, tools, outdoor items, games and books. For items not priced, shoppers may make an offer. All reasonable offers will be accepted.

Proceeds from the sale go to support local missions such as the Angel Connection Food Pantry in McCordsville and the worldwide missions of the Presbyterian Church. For more information, call 317-335-7600.
