Ricks-Weil Theatre Company to audition for “Joseph”

GREENFIELD — Ricks-Weil Theatre Company announces auditions for its summer musical, “Joseph And the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” Children’s auditions will be from 7 to 9 p.m. May 19-20 at the H.J. Ricks Centre for the Performing Arts, 122 W. Main St. Auditionees should come dressed to move and should bring conflict calendars along with their own sheet music to be prepared to sing at least 16 bars of a song. A cappella singing and singing with a CD or flashdrive are prohibited. Directors Beth Ray-Scott and Kathy Borgmann seek a wide range of singers and dancers, from children and teenagers through adults. Show dates are weekends from Aug. 2 through 11. Rehearsals will begin June 3 and tentatively run from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with some Saturday rehearsals as needed. This is a large cast production. Registration open for Royal Mud Run

CHARLOTTESVILLE — Registration is open for Eastern Hancock Education Foundation’s annual fundraiser, the Royal Mud Run, set for May 25 at 10370 E. County Road 250N, Charlottesville. This regionally known event offers competitive 5K races at 8 and 8:50 a.m. and fun run 5Ks at 9 a.m. The course features more than 20 obstacles including multiple mud pits, rope swings, a tire crawl, a slip-and-slide, a hay bale jump, a creek splash, up-and-over mud walls, a vertical tire wall and a fire jump.
