Royals fall to Wapahani

Eastern Hancock lost to Wapahani on Thursday, 7-2, despite outhitting the Raiders in the game.

The Royals offense was led by three hits from Ryan Burris. Four other Royals had a hit, with Trey Brown picking up the one Eastern Hancock RBI.

Five pitchers combined to allow just five hits, but struck out just three while walking 10. The Royals fall to 2-13 on the year with the loss and 0-6 in the Mid-Eastern Conference.

Cougars get past Frankton

Greenfield-Central played its fourth match in a row on Thursday, topping host Frankton, 3-2.

Avery Spencer picked up a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles.

The other Cougars points came at the doubles positions. At No. 1 doubles, Aly Proper and Erin Wright came back to win the first set and ended up with a 6-4, 1-6, 6-1 victory. At No. 2 doubles, Kaleigh Stephenson and Grace Silcox dropped the first set 4-6, won a tiebreak in the second set and won 6-3 in the third set to seal the team win.

The Cougars improved to 7-9 on the year with the win.
