Softball teams rising in the rankings
The four Hancock County softball teams are having a strong start to the 2019 season, with a combined 39-6-1 record and a strong presence in the latest coaches poll.
In Class 4A, Greenfield-Central (12-2) is up to No. 15. In Class 3A, New Palestine (10-1) maintains its No. 1 ranking that it has held for more than a year. In Class 2A, Eastern Hancock (7-2-1) is just outside the Top 15, in the receiving votes category.
Mt. Vernon (10-1) was receiving votes in 4A before last week’s loss to New Palestine.

NPCFL hosting dinner, silent auction
The New Palestine Cadet Football League is to hosting its first-ever NPCFL Dinner and Silent Auction on Saturday, May 4.
The event will be at 6 p.m. at the New Palestine High School gym and will feature New Palestine legends Todd Yoder, Matt Canada, Kyle Ralph and Marv Shepler. This event is for anyone, NPCFL or community.
