Greenfield Birders to gather on Saturday

GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Birders birdwatching group will meet at 8 a.m. Saturday at Brandywine Park, 900 E. Davis Road. As a recreational activity, birdwatching can be done with the naked eye or with binoculars or telescopes. It also provides a health benefit from walking. No experience is necessary for this free bi-weekly event. Participants should bring their own cameras or binoculars. Call 317-477-4340 for more information.

Indie Art Studio takes painting field trip to greenhouse

GREENFIELD — Join Indie Art Studio and Sunnyside Greenhouses for a succulent painting session from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. This session takes place at Sunnyside Greenhouses, 3185 E. County Road 700 N. At this plant-themed painting event, participants can paint a trio of colorful little succulents. The workshop is open to all skill levels. A variety of mix-and-match stencils will be provided for those who need more confidence. The $25 price includes all supplies and snacks. Register at attend at indieartstudio.com.

Peggy Brewer art class offered at New Palestine library

NEW PALESTINE — Just in time for Mother’s Day, Peggy Brewer plays host to two paint parties Monday at Hancock County Public Library’s Sugar Creek Branch, 5731 W. U.S. 52. The first session is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; the second, identical session is from 5 to 8 p.m. Brewer will give step-by-step instructions for painting a spring apple blossom panel. The $10 fee includes all supplies. Participants will have three panel designs to choose from. Students can paint a single panel, an art piece by itself, or invite friends and family to assist in completing a larger picture when all three panels are placed side by side.
