Symphony on the Prairie announces summer concert season

FISHERS — A 38-year tradition continues this summer with Kroger Symphony on the Prairie with the largest entertainment line-up yet: 35 concerts and new bands coming to the Conner Prairie Amphitheatre stage.

In addition to the Star-Spangled Symphony and fireworks display July 3 through 5, other highlights include:

•Broadway’s Rock of Ages band bringing alive the music of the glam metal bands of the ‘80s, such as Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar, Journey and Foreigner, on June 1.

•The music of Queen bridges the gulf between rock and roll and classical music with a Rock Symphony on June 14 and 15.

•The music of the Rolling Stones promises to be a high-energy performance on June 28.

•Denita Asbury brings an uncanny resemblance and charisma to her performance as Aretha Franklin on July 6.

•Conductor Jack Everly leads the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra through two nights of Broadway hits on July 12 and 13.

•Doug Church, backed up by his band, recreates the voice and costumes of Elvis Presley on July 20.

•The Music of Abba features the voices and costumes of this iconic Swedish rock band on Aug. 16.

•Night Fever, a Bee Gees tribute, captures the history of the Bee Gees including “Jive Talking,” “More Than a Woman” and “Stayin’ Alive” on Aug. 23.

•Fleetwood Mac Mania brings accuracy to their look and sound for the feel of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks on Aug. 24.

•Cary Hoffman, known as America’s premier Sinatra interpreter, brings his big band for My Sinatra on Aug. 29.

•The Emmy-winning Fab Four Ultimate Tribute on Aug. 31 covers every era of Beatles music.

•Floyd Factor, described as “a living bootleg” of the original Pink Floyd, on Sept 1.

•Face 2 Face, a musical tribute to legends of the piano Billy Joel and Elton John, on Sept. 7.

Also new this year is the addition of three large LED screens to enhance spectators’ concert from the lawn.

Lawn tickets, reserved seating, premium parking, tables reservations and Sunset Lounge tickets are on sale now. Lawn tickets can also be purchased with no fees at a local Kroger store. Value Packs (10 concert tickets) can be purchased for $250, a more than 30 percent savings from the regular gate price.
