Country Kritters discuss first aid kits and facts about trees

Brandywine's Best June meeting featured discussion and demonstrations.

GREENFIELD — Country Kritters 4-H Club met March 11 at the Sarah Burke 4-H Exhibit Hall, 620 N. Apple St., with 46 members in attendance.

Caitlin Cox presided over the meeting. Jada Maurer led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Conner Wittgren led the 4-H pledge.

Health and Safety presenter was Beau Dixon. Members discussed items that should go into a first-aid kit. Eli Manship and Elijah Edon demonstrated how to build a toy fire engine.

Luke Manship shared interesting facts about trees with the group. Luke Schilling demonstrated how to properly set a table. Hailey Hedrick showed attendees how to engrave beef tags.

Among the topics discussed were fundraising ideas, club t-shirts, important upcoming dates, 4-H Safety Day and trophy sponsorship.

The community service project selected for this meeting will be to bring the following items to donate to Hope House: shampoo, conditioner and rolls of paper towels.

This year’s club t-shirts will be a tie-dye design. T-shirts for new members will be free; the cost will be $9 for parents and other members.

Demonstrations at the next meeting will be given by Maverick Burke, Rocky Burke, Silas Fredenburg, Tate Fredenburg, Evan Kidder, Jada Mauer, Aubrey Mauer and Ryleigh Philhower. Anyone else interested in doing a demonstration should come prepared.

Safety Day will be April 13 at the Hancock County Sheep Barn, 802 N. Apple St.

The next club meeting will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hancock Regional Hospital, 801 N. State St.
