INDIANAPOLIS — It wasn’t at home like it was supposed to be, but Eastern Hancock’s baseball team officially kicked off the spring season on Monday night as planned.

Due to field conditions, the opener was moved from Charlottesville to Heritage Christian. The hosts, ranked just outside of the top 10 in Class 2A, topped the visiting Royals, 6-5.

The Royals out-hit the hosts eight to five, with Ryan Burris, Keegan Bowman and Landon Kintner each notching two hits and Trey Brown and Landon Stanely each adding a single. Burris and Wyatt Sutton each had two RBI and Andy Locker had one.
