Royals fall to Raiders

In a possible sectional semifinal preview, Eastern Hancock took to the road Tuesday and fell to Shenandoah, 64-34.

Skyler Schrope and Landon O’Neal led the Royals with eight points each. Joey Starrett had seven, Peyton Gray added four, Cole Rainbolt had three and Brady Stephens and Drew White each added two points.

The Royals fall to 11-10 on the season with the loss and 6-3 in the Mid-Eastern Conference. They close the regular season Friday with a road game at Hagerstown.

Gymnastics

Dragons top Shelbyville in finale

New Palestine swept all four events and the top three spots in the all-around Tuesday in a 97.925-84.05 victory against Shelbyville.

Grace Shanahan (34.45), Kennedy Garrett (33.4) and Emma Poag (30.075) swept the top three spots in the all-around in Tuesday’s meet. Shanahan won the bars and balance beam, while Garrett won the floor exercise and vault competitions.

Poag was third on the floor routine, fourth on the vault and bars and fifth on the beam.

The Dragons next compete Saturday in the sectional at Connersville.
