KNIGHTSTOWN
Ralph E. Newkirk, 76, of Knightstown, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Greenfield Health Care. He was born June 27, 1942 in Oakland City, Indiana a son of Ralph and Edna (Wininger) Newkirk.
Ralph graduated from Nazarene Bible College in Kansas City, MO and was a minister throughout his life. He currently was Assistant Pastor at Carthage Wesleyan Church, and had pastored Willow Grove Church of the Nazarene in Martinsville, the Wesleyan Church in Petersburg, IN, Clarkson Church of the Nazarene in Clarkson, KY, Shirley Friends Church, Kennard Friends Church, Knightstown Church of God, Ogden United Methodist Church and Wiley United Methodist Church in New Castle.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Phyllis Newkirk of Knightstown; daughters, Lori (Jack) Clay and Wendy (Steve) Fox both of Carthage; a brother, Kenny Newkirk of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Newkirk.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2019 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Charles Stroud officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Sunday.
