Cougar Cuisine, Hall of Fame rescheduled

Due to impending inclement weather, the Cougar Cuisine and Hall of Fame Induction set for this weekend have been rescheduled.

The Hall of Fame Induction will take place on Friday at halftime of the varsity boy’s basketball game against Pendleton Heights.

Cougar Cuisine will now take place on Feb. 2 from noon to 2 p.m. during the home basketball game against Greenwood.

Eastern Hancock gets road win at Daleville

Eastern Hancock traveled to Daleville on Thursday, picking up a road win, 55-48, to improve to 10-9 on the season.

Jenna Smith led the Royals with a big game, scoring 14 points and adding nine rebounds and eight assists. Jocelyn Duncan added 12 points for the visitors. Haley Best had nine points, five rebounds, three steals and three assists, Skyla Smith had eight points and six rebounds, Aly Spaulding scored seven, Chloe O’Neal had four points and eight rebounds, and Bella Witte scored one point and had five rebounds.

Dragons complete Senior Night home sweep

The New Palestine swim teams celebrated Senior Night with dual victories Thursday, as the Dragons swept Connersville in two close meets.

The Dragon girls won 97-88, while the boys won 98-84.

The races went down to the meet-ending 400 free relay. Jessica Rogers, Maria Virt, Bailey Young and Maigan Williams won the clinching points for the Dragon girls, with a margin of more than 19 seconds. For the Dragon boys, Tyle Corey, Jack Schwartz, Marlon Cabrera and Damon Estes won the 400 free relay by more than 10 seconds.

Rogers won two other events for the Dragon girls — the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Karen Shriver won in diving, with she and Samantha Booe taking the top two spots.

The Dragon boys won six events. In addition to the 400 free relay, the 200 medley relay team of Cabrera, Chase Siler, Corey and Schwartz began the meet with a victory.

Corey and Cabrera had a 1-2 finish in the 100 butterfly. Estes and Ben Miesse also finished 1-2 in the 200 freestyle. Siler won the 500 freestyle and Anthony Stultz the 100 breaststroke.

Marauders split dual with Pendleton Heights

Mt. Vernon took to the road for a dual with Pendleton Heights, splitting the meet with a win on the boys side and a loss on the girls side.

The Marauders boys won 105-78, while the Mt. Vernon girls fell to the Arabians, 136-50.

Wrestling

Dragons fall in road match at Greenwood

New Palestine won six matches Thursday, but fell 45-30 in a dual meet at Greenwood.

The Dragons’ wins came from John Dowden (106), Christian White (113), Noah Wright (145), Max Jones (145), Richard Clevenger (170) and Juan Camacho (220).

Greenfield-Central cruises to Senior Night dual win

Greenfield-Central hosted Beech Grove on Thursday for Senior Night, with the Cougars rolling to a big win, 54-21.

Winners for the Cougars were Dakota Herald (106), Logan Condrey (120), Dylan Dorman (126), Gavin Rose (132), Kenny Thompson (145), Cooper Noehre (152), Branden McKinney (160), Scott Stanley (182), Jacob Blevens (195) and Bradon Nelson (220).
