GREENFIELD
Betty Maxine (Henderson) Farrell, age 90, of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Springhurst Health Campus. She was born in Romona, IN on January 23, 1928 to Claude B. and Leona (Easton) Henderson. She graduated from Bedford High School in 1945 and obtained her bachelor’s in nursing from Indiana University in 1949 with honors. On September 8, 1951 Betty married Dr. John J. Farrell in Bedford.
She was a registered nurse for many years for different physicians in Bedford. Betty also worked alongside her husband at his private practice for numerous years. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and Tri Kappa. Betty liked bowling and had bowled at Greenfield Lanes for 39 years. She also enjoyed boating, fishing, playing bridge, and spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by her children, Dr. J. Joseph (Suzanne) Farrell, III of Lafayette, Jeffrey Alan (Cheryl) Farrell of Anderson, Gregory Lee (Anita) Farrell of Terre Haute, and David Scott Farrell of Le Claire, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Leona Henderson; husband, Dr. John Farrell; and brother, Billy G. Henderson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A mass of Christian burial will be following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd., Greenfield, IN 46140. Father Aaron Jenkins will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
