All the president’s tweets

GREENFIELD — When Anthony Michalisko goes out to talk about his book, he always wears a blue suit and a red tie, much like the president he admires.

Michalisko’s admiration led him to make it his goal to record history. The young man has compiled and cataloged all of President Donald Trump’s tweets — a number he estimates is around 4,000 — from the day of his inauguration through the end of 2017.

Each tweet, beginning with “It all begins today! I will see you at 11 A.M. for the swearing-in….” includes the date and time, the number of likes and the number of retweets.

Michalisko assures readers that each tweet is exactly as Trump typed it, for accuracy purposes, he added.

The idea to compile Trump’s tweets came to him as he and his uncle were watching television, and one of Trump’s tweets scrolled across the bottom of the screen. His uncle read it aloud, and Michalisko got to thinking about all the older Americans who might not be on Twitter who would enjoy Trump’s tweets.

Michalisko, a 2010 Greenfield-Central High School graduate, studied political science at Indiana State University for two years, but nowadays, he takes classes at the Leadership Institute, a training facility with the goal of teaching young conservatives how to succeed in politics, government and the media.

Michalisko’s goal is to pick up skills and strategies on how to get his book out. He’s taken classes on the dos and don’ts of talking on TV, how to maintain social media pages, how to manage a Twitter account and how to get followers.

“How to grass-roots grow yourself,” Michalisko said. “It’s a full-court press on getting it (the book) out.”

It should come as no surprise that Michalisko has found Twitter to be a very effective way of marketing his book.

“Since it’s about President Trump’s tweets,” he explains, “the best way is to go to President Trump’s tweets, find out who liked them and then follow them.” But even then, Michalisko is selective, choosing to follow people who are more likely to follow him back.

“People who follow back get to my Twitter page,” Michalisko said, “and they go to the link and they buy it.”

Michalisko has a favorite tweet, one that made him laugh out loud as he read it: “Mike Pompeo is doing a great job, I am very proud of him. His predecessor, Rex Tillerson, didn’t have the mental capacity needed. He was dumb as a rock and I couldn’t get rid of him fast enough. He was lazy as hell. Now it is a whole new ballgame, great spirit at State”

Michalisko admits that several other authors have similar books out, but that none are as comprehensive as his.

“The goal is to get Trump to tweet about the book, to get his attention,” Michalisko said. “I want my book to be in the presidential library because mine was the original.”

Michalisko has sent copies of the book to Donald Trump Jr. and to FOX news regular Greg Gutfeld.

“If I could get it on ‘FOX and Friends,’ it would definitely get his (the president) attention because that’s his favorite show,” Michalisko said.

Michalisko’s self-published book is available on Amazon in paperback or in a Kindle edition, along with his previous book, “President Trump’s Tweets 2016: General Election Edition.”
