2 business leaders join state Chamber board

GREENFIELD — Two local business leaders have been named to the Indiana Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

They are Sarena Lin, senior vice president – North America Operations and Global Strategy at Elanco Animal Health; and Steve Long, president and chief executive officer at Hancock Regional Hospital.

Lin and Long are among the more than 150 Indiana Chamber board members who are presidents, CEOs and high-level executives from companies throughout the state. Thirteen other executives are joining the board at the same time.

Lin joined Elanco earlier this year. She sits on the board of directors for Animal Health Institute and holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management; a master’s from Yale University; and a bachelor’s from Harvard University.

As president and CEO of Hancock Regional Hospital since 2014, Long is the administrator of a 92-bed, independent, full-service community hospital with more than 1,200 associates, 400 volunteers and a medical staff of nearly 400. Long is also a graduate of the University of Iowa and a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Both Lin and Long will serve three-year terms as Indiana Chamber board members through 2021.

 B&A Genetics hires new agronomist

GREENFIELD — Seed company B&A Genetics has hired Mark Beamer as an agronomist for its EdgeUp Advisory System.

In his new role with B&A Genetics, Beamer will partner with growers to develop customized, strategic year-round plans that combine in-field data and proven management practices.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mark to our team,” said Gregg Adams, co-owner of B&A Genetics. “He has a lot of experience and a wealth of knowledge that will benefit our entire team…"

Beamer’s experience as an agronomist spans more than 20 years. He spent much of his time working in the seed production industry where he developed a deep understanding of corn and soybean production. He is a native of Celina, Ohio.
