GREENFIELD — Angela Evans has been selected to receive an Indiana Library Federation Esther Schlundt Memorial Scholarship for 2018. The Esther Schlundt Memorial Scholarship Fund is named in honor of an outstanding reference librarian at Purdue University. This scholarship provides funding for one or more applicants entering or currently enrolled in an ALA-accredited graduate degree program in library and information.

Evans is a library assistant in the Technical Services Department of the Hancock County Public Library, specializing in receiving and magazine acquisitions for two years. For three years preceding this position, she worked as a circulation assistant. Her passion for libraries began as a child, and grew through volunteering and working as a student assistant during high school at the Hancock County Public Library.

Evans holds an Associate of Science in Library Technical Assistant from Ivy Tech Community College, a Bachelor’s from IUPUI and is in progress towards completion of her Master of Library Science from Indiana University in the coming year. Her goal is to focus on opportunities in Technical Services. Evans has lived in Greenfield, Indiana for 15 years, where she and her husband have a one-year-old daughter.
