Police looking for man who scammed woman
HANCOCK COUNTY — The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department is asking for help identifying a man they say scammed a 73-year-old woman into giving him thousands of dollars in cash.
The woman told police the suspect visited her home on Dec. 7 offering to repave her driveway, saying he was with a company called Mike’s Paving. He gave her no additional information about the business.
The woman reportedly drove the suspect to her bank to get the $8,000 in cash he said he needed to have the work done.
