Royals fall on road

Eastern Hancock jumped out on North Decatur early but couldn’t hold on to a halftime lead, falling on the road Tuesday, 55-51.

The Royals led 31-23 at the half but a big third quarter propelled the hosts into the lead. Eastern Hancock was led by Jocelyn Duncan and Jenna Smith, who each scored 15 points in the loss.

Dragons post huge total in win

New Palestine had its biggest offensive night since 2001 on Tuesday, beating host Shelbyville 85-49 at Garrett Gymnasium. 

Four Dragons scored in double figures. Leah Seib scored 24 points, tallying 20 in the opening half. Haley Harrison drained five 3-pointers en route to a 21-point game. Megan Jolly added 16 points. Katie Herron had 13 for the Dragons.

Marauders sweep Dragons

The New Palestine swim teams had a close dual meet with Mt. Vernon on Tuesday, with the visiting Marauders coming away with wins on both sides.

The Mt. Vernon girls picked up a 99-86 win and the Marauders boys won 95-77 against the host Dragons.
