Kevin Ruschhaupt, 67, of Greenfield Indiana, passed away Sunday Morning, November 18, 2018, surround by his loved ones at his son’s home in Greenfield. Kevin was born January 15, 1951 in Indianapolis to Miriam Louise and Arthur “Art” Ruschhaupt. He grew up in New Palestine where he was a member of New Palestine United Methodist Church. Kevin was a 1969 graduate of New Palestine High School. He went on to study music education and graduated from Indiana Central College in 1974. After college Kevin married and had one son, Jeremy. Kevin remained a devoted father throughout his life. Additionally, he was a father figure to many of Jeremy’s friends. He had positive impact on the lives of so many over the years. Kevin loved organ and big band music, old movies, cooking and antiques. He was a long time member of the Indiana Chapter American Theatre Organ Society. He enjoyed playing and restoring theatre organs. Kevin worked for the Indiana Reparatory Theatre from 1980-1984. He then went on to spend a 25 year career with Sherwin Williams before his retirement in 2010. In 2008 Kevin was blessed with the love of his life, his granddaughter, Sophia. He spent most of the last 10 years attending school functions, sporting events and indulging her every whim. He was the embodiment of the perfect grandparent. His father, Arthur Ruschhaupt, his mother, Miriam Louise Cones, His stepfather, Wally Cones, his aunt, Eve Berry and his nephew, Dustin Mattingly, preceded Kevin in death. He is survived by his son, Jeremy (Shannon) Ruschhaupt, granddaughter, Sophia Ruschhaupt, sister, Lu Ann Mattingly, cousin, Michael (Gretchen) Dellekamp and numerous second and third cousins. Friends and family will gather from 2-4 PM on Friday, November 23rd, at Hendryx Mortuary, New Palestine Chapel, 19 E Main St, New Palestine In, 46163. A memorial service will follow the visitation at the chapel beginning at 4 PM. A private family graveside service will be held at a later time.
