Due date approaching for property taxes

GREENFIELD — Hancock County property taxes are due to the Hancock County treasurer’s office by Nov. 13.

Taxes can be paid in the following ways:

Pay in person at Hancock County treasurer’s office at the Courthouse Annex, 111 American Legion Place, Suite 205, Greenfield.

The office is open to take payments from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday; and from 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 10.

The office will be closed on Tuesday for Election Day and on Nov. 12 for Veteran’s Day.

Mail taxes in to the Hancock County treasurer, 111 American Legion Place Suite 205, Greenfield, 46140. To avoid a penalty, make sure the envelope is postmarked on or before Nov. 13.

Visit the county website, www.hancockcoingov.org, to pay with debit card, credit card or e-check. The credit card company will charge a fee.

4. Visit STAR Bank, 230 E. New Road, Greenfield. The branch is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays. Drive-thru hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Payment can be placed in a drop box located at the front entrance of the Courthouse Annex. Payments can be left in the box until midnight by Nov. 13.
