Library offers tween zip line challenge

GREENFIELD — Kids ages 8 through 12 can design and engineer a miniature zip line during a STEM challenge on Tuesday from 4 to 5 p.m., at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road. The objective is to send a mystery object on a safe descent to the bottom of the zip line in only four seconds. Sign up at hcplibrary.org or call 317-462-5141, ext. 238 for more information. Teens celebrate Donut Day at the library

NEW PALESTINE — Teens in grades 6 through 12, are invited to celebrate National Donut Day on Monday from 4 to 5 p.m., at the Hancock County Public Library’s Sugar Creek Branch, 5087 W. U.S. Highway 52. The library will offer a feast of donuts from yeast to cake for all to enjoy. Space is limited to the first 30 people who sign up at hcplibrary.org for this free event. Cardboard Engineering experience fosters creativity

INDIANAPOLIS — Visitors to the Indiana State Museum, 650 W. Washington St., can use cardboard to build whatever they can dream up as part of “Cardboard Engineering” now through May 27. Materials are available to create a rocket ship, school bus, house, robot or anything else from cardboard. The area features a free creation space stocked with cardboard boxes, cardboard pieces, colored tape, crayons, markers, safety scissors and pipe cleaners.
