NEW PALESTINE
Nelda L. Cain, 94, of New Palestine and a longtime resident of Punta Gorda, Fl., passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Woodland Terrace, New Palestine. She was born August 5, 1924, in Hope, Indiana to the late Frank and Alma (Burns) McNealy.
Nelda was a graduate of Decatur Central High School and attended Indiana University. She married Walter R. Cain in 1946 and Hugh Amos in 2002. She was a member of Greenfield United Methodist Church and the First United Methodist Church in Punta Gorda. Prior to her retirement Nelda was a Pharmacy Technician in Greenfield, IN, and in Punta Gorda, FL.
She is survived by her children Thomas Cain of Lakeway, TX, Diane Pearson of Frankfort, IN, Marjorie Redden of New Palestine, IN, Kevin Cain of McKinney, TX, sister; Clara Mae Chipman of Greensburg, IN, 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Nelda is preceded in death by her parents; husband Walter Cain in 2000; husband Hugh Amos in 2012; and siblings; Arthur, Joe, Alice, Charlie, Frieda, Pauline, Marcille, Herbert, Fred, and Chester.
Funeral service 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140 with Nelda’s grandson Pastor Keet Redden officiating. Friends may call 10 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army.
