GREENFIELD — The Hancock County Community Foundation recently awarded The Landing Place a $1,000 grant to fund a music festival open to the community to celebrate the organization’s fifth anniversary and the introduction of the new program, The Bridge. The Landing will introduce a new coffee cafe during this time as well. This celebration will include live music and food.

The grant award came from the Hancock County Enrichment Fund and Strong Families and Youth Fund, component funds of HCCF. Created by HCCF, the Enrichment Fund is a comprehensive, unrestricted fund that addresses a broad range of needs, including future needs that often cannot be anticipated. It helps support long-term solutions, respond quickly to emergencies, and meet changing social, cultural, educational, and environmental needs in the community. The Strong Families and Youth Fund is a member of HCCF’s Spirit of Community fund family, supporting programs that proactively strengthen and grow our youth and encourage the betterment of our families in Hancock County.

The Landing Place serves Hancock County youth and adults and provides resources to encourage better life choices in recovery. Last year, the organization served 2,700 students.

The Landing Place is expanding its programming to include young adults ages 20-28 through The Bridge. The vision of this program is to help improve quality of life, reduce relapse, and increase sobriety rates in young adults.

The Landing Place’s mission is to provide a safe place to reach the youth and adults in the community, to educate, encourage and equip through recovery coaching and programing.

HCCF provides philanthropic leadership by encouraging giving, learning, community pride and civic engagement. Working with caring individuals, families, and organizations to create or grow existing permanent endowment funds is critical to the organization’s mission. These funds generate income that is distributed in the form of grants and scholarships to enrich and enhance life in Hancock County, as well as support the donor’s favorite charitable causes, both at home and afar forever. HCCF has granted more than $14 million since its inception in 1992.
