Every year more than 500,000 people come together in more than 600 communities for the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
The Greater Indiana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association holds 12 of these walks in Indiana. The Indianapolis walk will be on Oct. 6 at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse. The thousands of families and supporters who will be in Indianapolis are there to raise money to bring free services to those families who are struggling to care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or other form of dementia. They are there to raise awareness about a disease that is the sixth leading cause of death, cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed.
