Bazaar looks ahead to Christmas

NEW PALESTINE — The United Methodist Women at New Palestine United Methodist Church will have their annual 94 Days Until Christmas Craft & Vendor Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 22) at the church, 3565 S. County Road 500W (Gem Road).

Buck Creek presents musical service

CUMBERLAND — Buck Creek Baptist Church’s Singspiration is set for 10:30 a.m. Sept. 30.

It will feature congregational singing and special music by the Praise Choir, ensembles from the congregation, The Seenagers and special guests The Stoner Sisters.

Zion Lutheran plans GermanFest

NEW PALESTINE — Zion Lutheran Church and School, 6513 W. County Road 300S, will celebrate its German heritage with the 43rd annual GermanFest on Sept. 29.

The event includes Touch a Truck and a 5K walk and run.

An a la carte lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dinner, priced at $15 for adults and $6 for children, will be served from 4 to 7:30 p.m. The meal features sauerbraten, ribs and kraut, ham, green beans, German potato salad, brats and wieners, potato pancakes, pretzels and desserts.

Curry’s Chapel sets Homecoming for Sept. 30

GREENFIELD — Curry’s Chapel United Methodist Church will celebrate its annual Homecoming on Sept. 30. Worship begins at 10:30 a.m., and a pitch-in dinner follows.

Wild Horse Ministries event coming

GREENFIELD — See a wild horse that’s never been ridden before surrender to the touch of a master horseman.

Paul Dailey’s Wild Horse Ministries will be at Curry’s Chapel United Methodist Church for a family event at 4 p.m. Oct. 7. Bring your lawn chairs.

Country Fair to raise money for missions

INDIANAPOLIS — Irvington Presbyterian Women in the Church (PWC) will play host to the Irvington Presbyterian Church Country Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 29 in Fellowship Hall and the church parking lot, 55 Johnson Ave., Indianapolis.

Shoppers can enjoy the rummage sale, food market and lunch. The rummage sale will include vintage items other than clothes.

The food market will offer baked goods, soup, lasagna, chicken and noodles, pot pies, pizza, jams and more. The café will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with chili, hot dogs and pie.

A drawing for baskets filled with gifts, food and gift cards will take place at 2 p.m. Tickets at one for $2, three for $5, and eight for $10 are on sale at the church office.

A special addition to the silent auction is a Christmas quilt wall hanging by Lavonne Mitchell. Winners need not be present for the drawing.

Proceeds benefit the Presbyterian Women’s mission projects, such as the ICAN food pantry and School 57, plus national and worldwide PWC interests.

Catholic women invited to ‘Come and See’

SAINT MARY-OF-THE-WOODS The Sisters of Providence Come and See Weekend Retreat will take place Oct. 26-28 at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.

The retreat is free and is for single, Catholic women ages 18-42 to see if God is calling them to a life as a Sister of Providence.

Women can spend time with sisters in prayer, ask younger sisters any questions they may have and get to know the group’s foundress, Saint Mother Theodore Guerin, all while exploring where God may be calling them.
