Marauders earn victory

Mt. Vernon hosted Warren Central on Wednesday and picked up a 5-0 win on senior night.

Mt. Vernon’s No. 1 doubles team of Braeden Browning and Peyton Meadors got off the court first with a 6-0, 6-0 win. Sam McCarty was off next, winning 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.

The No. 2 doubles team of Sam Frye and Jackson Dunlavy won 6-2, 6-2. Chris Hays continued his improvement, winning 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.

J.D. Cohee completed the sweep for Mt. Vernon with a big comeback at No. 1 singles. After trailing 2-8 in a third-set super-tiebreaker, he rallied to win 6-4, 4-6, 10-8.

Royals get 2nd victory

Eastern Hancock swept its way to its second victory this season, getting past Blue River Valley 5-0.

Kodey Huff won at No. 1 singles, 7-5, 6-0. At No. 2 singles, Ian White won 6-2, 6-3. At No. 3 singles, John McDaniel won 6-0, 6-3.

At No. 1 doubles, the Royals team of Keegan Bowman and Brady Ellis won 6-4, 4-6, 7-5. The No. 2 doubles team of Peyton Robertson and Sammy Blocher won 6-2, 6-2.

Cougars fall to Arabians

Greenfield-Central fell to HHC foe Pendleton Heights on Wednesday, 5-0, in the second match the Cougars have played since changing their lineup.

At No. 1 doubles, Mason Bussel and Collin Hunt started down 0-3 in their first set before they finally started to feel comfortable in their match. As the match went on the pair only got better and almost forced a third set before barely losing the second 5-7.

The No. 2 doubles team of Kane Bradley and Robbie Dye also had a tight match. The pair won their first set 6-1 but allowed their opponent back in the match during the second and came up short of winning in the third.

At No. 3 singles, Seth Kirkpatrick played singles for the second time this season. Seth is still adjusting from doubles to singles but is getting better each night and will continue to improve as the season continues. No. 1 singles Sam Galyean and No. 2 singles Steven Roland also lost, but they were both hitting smarter shots and had some very long rallies throughout their match.

Dragons get shutout sweep

New Palestine posted a 5-0 sweep of New Castle on Wednesday afternoon, improving the team’s record to 5-1 in HHC play.

At singles, Matthew True and Trevor Darley both won 6-0, 6-0. At No. 2, Carson Gavin won 6-0, 6-2.

The No. 1 doubles team of Dane Reid and Ben Blachly also won 6-0, 6-0. Ethan Haeberle and Jeremy Wagoner won 7-5, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.
