Footlite Musicals to audition for “Legally Blonde”

INDIANAPOLIS — Footlite Musicals will hold open auditions for “Legally Blonde” on Sunday at 6:30 pm. and Monday at 7:00 pm. Sunday auditions will be held at the Footlite annex, across from the Hedback Community Theater, and Monday auditions at the Hedback Community Theater, 1847 N. Alabama St.

Rehearsals will begin late September, with production dates Nov. 30 through Dec. 16. Those auditioning for this production should prepare 16 — 32 measures of a traditional Broadway song that will showcase vocal ability. Auditioners should bring sheet music to the song they plan to sing. The audition will include a choreographed movement sequence and reading from the script. Please be sure to bring a list of any conflicts that you will have during the rehearsal/performance period. Anyone who is under 18 should bring a parent/guardian to auditions to sign a waiver and audition form.

Survival Challenge 5K Run to support Rupert’s Kids

SHELBYVILLE — Rupert Boneham, four-time contestant on the television show “Survivor,” will host a 5K run beginning at 8:30 a.m. on September 15 to raise funds for Rupert’s Kids, INC. Rupert’s Survival Challenge 5K Run will be held at the Shelby County Fairgrounds, 500 Frank St. Registration is $30 for adults and $15 for children; the family price is $75. Rupert’s Kids is a mentoring program working with at-risk youth and adults who need help getting their lives on track to be legal and contributing members of society. The organization provides the opportunity to develop a strong work ethic, social skills and life competencies for future success. Registration can be found online at rupertskids.org. Register before September 1, 2018, to have a shirt included with your registration fee.
