Hancock library offers genealogy resources

GREENFIELD — Learn to research family history using the Hancock County Public Library’s free database, HeritageQuest, on Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road. The library provides free access to two genealogy websites: Ancestry Library Edition — available at the library only — and HeritageQuest which can be used from a home computer with a library card number. During the session, librarian Paul McNeil will discuss HeritageQuest’s collections. Following the demo, during the research period, McNeil will converse one-on-one with participants to address genealogy “brick walls” or answer general questions about HeritageQuest or Ancestry. This is also a time to swap information and strategies with other genealogy enthusiasts. Register to attend at hcplibrary.org or call 317-462-5141, ext. 238.
