Following up its season-opening win last week, Mt. Vernon competed Saturday in an Invitational at The Legends in Franklin. The Marauders finished third out of 17 schools, a big jump from last year’s 17th-place result at the same invite.
Freshman Meredith Johnson tied for ninth place individually with an 88. She was followed by Alaina Nugent with a 90, Ava Hampton with 100, Lily Hampton with 104 and Savannah McKemie with a 120.
Cougars earn 5th-place finish
Greenfield-Central was one of 15 schools competing Saturday in the Greensburg Invitational, and the Cougars earned a fifth-place finish with a team score of 388.
Caroline Gibson led the way with a 90, followed by Haley Hoagland’s 93, Tandess O’Neal’s 99 and Rose Gerard’s 106. Phoenix Breese shot a Greensburg Invite personal best of 110.
